Archbishop Carroll pitcher James Kelly had no trouble finding the strike zone on Monday.
The junior scattered seven hits over seven innings, allowing just two runs without walking a batter.
He also struck out 12 to help the host Patriots defeat Conwell Egan, 6-2, in Catholic League play.
Nick Zambella provided most of Carroll’s offense.
The senior first hit a solo home run in the fourth inning and followed up with a three-run shot in the
sixth inning to put the game out of reach.
